HDM-2 Binding Domain
PNC-27 contains a p53-derived HDM-2 binding domain reported to recognize HDM-2 expressed at the surface of tumor cell lines in culture.
Binds to Membrane
Published in vitro work reports the peptide inserting into the target cell membrane and forming pore-like structures.
Reported Membrane Lysis
That membrane disruption is reported to cause necrosis in the tumor cell lines studied, while the normal cell lines tested — which lack surface HDM-2 — were not lysed.
